We’ve Been Talking

During Mandela month we’ve been travelling all around Cape Town to talk with communities on the issues most pressing to them.  Needless to say, there was no shortage of issues to explore. Here’s a little taste of what you can expect to see in the coming weeks.

In Hout Bay, single mothers share their struggles with raising their children in a poisonous environment and their battle to turn their boys to men.

As many are aware, life on the Cape Flats is no walk in the park, communities members discussed the gritty nature of life in a ghetto; where drug abuse, unemployment and a lack of opportunity make for idle hands and broken homes.

Virtual reality Vs. Real life? In Cape Town we started a conversation on life online. Has advances in technology really made our lives easier or just more complicated?

In Observatory, a diverse group of South Africans conversed about the complex nature of both heterosexual and homosexual relationships, from make-ups to break-ups to the fleeting emotions in-between.

So keep watching this space for these and much more fascinating conversations.
