Marked by ceremonies, ritual activities and cultural practices – the rite of passage is a universally understood concept; signaling and celebrating the transition from one phase of life to another. In South Africa, and specifically within the Xhosa culture, Initiation is a revered tradition and an ancient rite of passage. In this episode we filmed a group of Xhosa men, some recently initiated, along with their fathers and grandfathers as they discuss the morals and values that are rooted within the cultural practice.
