Role Models

Season 1 Episode 17

Thu, 16 Jun 2016 7:15pm

“….politicians are fighting for power, they are bringing people down….we’re watching them, they’re doing that, why can’t we?”

“…we have surroundings that in a way influence us but at the end of the day we’re the ones who make the choices”

“….if a parent is doing something wrong is it easy for you to just get up and do what’s right?”

Eight students from Langa High speak passionately about role models, or the lack there of, in society today. They argue for and against the impact of family upbringing and other societal role models, exploring how we are defined and shaped by our earliest experiences. What we learn from these bright sparks is that as much as we are defined by our earliest examples, there is always choice.
